Hotdog
About Hotdog is a sweet 10-year-old girl who narrowly escaped a shelter after months of waiting for a second chance. Despite her heart condition, which requires lifelong medication, Hotdog is full of life and love. Her medical needs don't define her, and we’re committed to ensuring her story continues with a happy ending. We believe Hotdog is a Dachshund and Corgi mix. She has settled well into her foster home alongside other senior dogs, though she was a bit protective of her space when she first arrived. Now, she enjoys the company of her foster siblings, especially during snack time. At mealtimes, she prefers some space due to her initial maternal instincts, but she has no issues joining the pack for treats. |
Hotdog has some herding instincts and may give you a playful nudge or "charge" at the vacuum, but she calms down when reminded. She is vocal and will not hesitate to let you know when she wants something with her signature bark or howl, so if you’re looking for a quiet companion, Hotdog might not be the best match.
She knows basic commands like “sit” and “shake” and is easy to handle for medical care and bathing. Hotdog enjoys her daily walks and happily puts herself to bed in her pen at night. She even responds to playful nicknames like "Veggie Dog" or "Veggie Hotdog" for our plant-based families!
Please note that Hotdog is not suitable for homes with cats, as she is very reactive when she sees them.
