Pom-egranate
About Yes, she’s absolutely adorable, but this little diva comes with her own set of challenges and needs a very patient, Pomeranian-experienced home. Pom-egranate was rescued from a backyard breeder who discarded her once she was no longer useful for breeding. As a result, she’s had very limited human interaction and is still learning to trust. At first, she will bolt, run away, and can be difficult to catch when outside. She may even chase after you to nip at your ankles when she feels unsure. If she feels threatened, she may bite. |
It’s taken me weeks to earn her trust, but with patience and time, she’s allowed me to brush her, carry her around, and even give her kisses—though she’s still unsure about them. We’re making progress! Now, she’ll sometimes lie down for me to pick her up when we’re outside. It’s truly heartwarming because once Pom-egranate opens up, she is as sweet as can be. However, reaching that point will take time, dedication, and lots of patience.
Pom-egranate isn’t potty trained but she is crate trained. She doesn’t know how to walk on a leash or do typical “dog things” yet. She’s not suited for a home with children. While she did okay at the groomer’s, she was very nervous afterward. She’s quite vocal and will let you know how she’s feeling, even turning into a “100-pound Mastiff” when strangers come over. Despite her quirks, she gets along well with other dogs and cats.
Pom-egranate is 7 years old, weighs 7.5 pounds, and is in perfect health. She’s spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed, flea-treated, microchipped, and has had a full dental exam and bloodwork done. She’s located in Clovis, California, and available for adoption through Paw Squad. While we do allow out-of-area adoptions, I’d prefer for her to stay within a few hours of Clovis in case she ever needs help. I’m even willing to offer pet-sitting for the rest of her life to ensure she never has to experience a stressful boarding situation.
Though she’s a stunner, Pom-egranate needs a special home with 100% commitment. Please don’t apply unless you’re absolutely certain you’re the right fit for her.
If you’re interested, send me a message explaining why you believe you’re the best home for Pom-egranate. She deserves nothing but the best, just like all of my dogs.
