Rick
About Rick is a 5-pound, 3-year-old Yorkie mix with a past that requires an experienced and patient home. Despite his small size and adorable looks, Rick needs an owner who understands the challenges that come with his background. He and his brother were found roaming the streets in terrible condition, and it's believed Rick had very little human interaction and spent most of his life outdoors. |
As a result, Rick requires a home where patience, time, and understanding are key. His foster has made significant progress—Rick can now be held without biting, and he’s starting to use potty pads. However, he remains nervous and unsure, and he won't be the kind of dog to run up to you at a meet-and-greet or take to walks right away. Rick has a strong flight response and will try to bolt, so he needs a very secure environment and someone willing to invest time in building trust and teaching him to enjoy life as a beloved pet.
Rick will do best in a home without children. He gets along well with other small dogs and is crate trained and very quiet. He also has a beautiful long coat that will require regular grooming.
Please only apply if you have experience with dogs like Rick and can provide the patience and care he needs to thrive.
