Shasta

  • Australian Shepherd
  • Senior | Female | Small | Tricolor (Brown, Black, & White)

About
Shasta is a 10-year-old, 17-pound female mini Australian Shepherd. She came to us under unfortunate circumstances due to her aging owner’s health, but she has been adjusting well to life outside the only home she's ever known. Shasta still has so much energy, love, and joy to share!
Although she’s a little timid when meeting new people, a few gentle head scratches will have her melting at your feet. She has the wiggliest nub of a tail and even knows how to lift each paw so you can easily slip on her harness for walks. Shasta walks beautifully on leash and gets along with cats, well-mannered children, and calm dogs. She’s all about love and affection, taking treats with the utmost gentleness, and she’s the perfect companion for Netflix marathons or cozy couch time.

Shasta adores being close to her human and has shown no signs of resource guarding or nipping. She loves being brushed—just tap the brush on the floor, and she’ll roll over, belly-up, ready for some pampering. She’s done great with house training, sticking to a regular potty schedule, and has been making excellent progress with crate training, sleeping quietly through the night.
Shasta is up-to-date on vaccines, spayed, and in good health. While her coat has been trimmed for summer, she typically has a fluffy coat that will need regular brushing.
